Patron of Miss Namibia Organization
Michelle McLean-Bailey is the new Patron of the Miss Namibia Organization. She is an accomplished actress, writer, model, and beauty queen born in Namibia in 1972. At the age of 19, she became the first Namibian woman to win Miss Universe in 1992. Michelle’s career has taken her to 26 countries as a master of ceremonies and television presenter, where she has hosted a range of events and presented television shows. Michelle is also a committed philanthropist who campaigns for charities, including The Michelle McLean Children Trust in Namibia and the Michelle McLean Primary School.
Michelle has a long-standing relationship with the Miss Universe Organization, having brought the pageant to Namibia in 1995 and co-hosted the Miss World pageant in South Africa in 2009. She was presented with The Lifetime Achievement Award for her philanthropy work in 1998 by Donald Trump, the owner of the Miss Universe Organization. Michelle is also a member of the World Economic Forum and a consultant for Trade and Tourism in Southern Africa.
As the new Patron of the Miss Namibia Organization, Michelle brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence that will benefit contestants and the organization. The Miss Universe Organization has recognized Michelle’s achievements, and her philanthropy work has raised over $50 million to help underprivileged children in Namibia and Southern Africa. Michelle’s contributions to the world of entertainment and philanthropy make her a valuable asset to the Miss Namibia Organization.
