The Miss Namibia Beauty Pageant has always been on the forefront of providing a platform to young and vibrant women in efforts to bring about positive changes in society.

Under the theme, “Beauty with purpose”, the Miss Namibia Organizing Committee paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, the President of Namibia, Hage Geingob. The aim of the visit was set to discuss the creation of a platform where title holders will be given masterclasses in entrepreneurship and additional skills.

Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) Director General, Stanley Similo stated that the organization wishes to evolve from the traditional norm of beauty pageants and take up space and tackle projects which addresses societal issues. Similo added: “The girl child in our country deserves to be treated with respect and authority and deserves a platform to plough back into our communities.”

In recent years, the Miss Namibia Organization has moved one step closer to achieving its objective of breaking barriers for beauty queens to use the podium for positive and influential changes and to tackle issues that matter in the society.

The organization continues to advocate for positive changes and has drawn international interest, through its never ending efforts in marketing strategies and combined charitable causes. The NBC currently owns 30% stake in the Miss Namibia Organization and announced that proceedings are underway to fully own the esteemed beauty pageant.

President Geingob commended the Miss Namibia Organization for the mentorship and for instilling patriotism among the youth. He is particularly proud that the contestants pursue causes in the communities even before entering the competition.
