The Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia 2022 preliminary judging was held at Country Club and Resort in Windhoek last week followed by the glamourous Winter Bash and Luncheon events.

The Top 12 Miss Namibia Finalists were selected among 31 contestants and Miss Teen Namibia from 19 contestants. During the announcement of the Top 12, Unify Kazumba was crowned as Miss Teen Namibia Public Choice and Zoe Karsten as Miss Debutant for Miss Teen, whilst Zhahida Tjizera was crowned as Miss Namibia Public Choice and Lilly Shihepo as Miss Debutant for Miss Namibia. Miss Namibia Finalists will compete for the title on 12 August and Miss Teen on 11 August 2022 in Windhoek.

Karsten donated N$6000.00 to the Miss Namibia Pageant from her beauty care business, Easy Sales and also managed to raise over N$200 000.00 through sponsorship for the pageant. During an interview Zoe explained how grateful she is and added: “I am thankful to all the customers that made it possible for me to give back to the Miss Teen Namibia Pageant through my business. It was tough, it was challenging but I pushed through as I want to use this platform that Miss Teen Namibia has given me to inspire others to also start their business and to also push their boundaries and step out from their comfort zone.”

Miss Namibia Director, Umbi Karuaihe-Upi also emphasized on how impressed she is about the Miss Debutant drive from all the contestants. She said, “We are so happy and we are very thankful to Zoe and all the contestants for giving back so much to the organization.”

Soon after the announcement of the Miss Namibia Top 12 Finalists, they traveled to the Erongo Region on Monday 11 July for a week long excursion and stayed at the luxurious Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.

The finalists painted the Swakopmund Primary School canteen, visited Pap Mansion as part of their activities aimed at giving back to the community. The canteen feeds 60 school children every day and afforded the Finalists the opportunity to learn some painting skills and got to know what the Swakopmund Lions do to improve the town.

They also visited various tourist attractions, inclusive of a unique excursion to the world famous Sandwich Harbor by Sandwich Dune Tours and Safaris to show case the beauty that Namibia has to offer.
